BASH FOR BIKES with Allen Lim | Thursday, December 8th, 2011 | 6:30-9pm

Colorado Multisport/Superfly Cycles is pleased to announce the first-ever Bash for Bikes in benefit of World Bicycle Relief on Thursday, Dec. 8th from 6:30-9pm in Boulder, CO. Renowned exercise physiologist, Allen Lim, will host the event and moderate an evening of stories from four World Champion cyclists and triathletes: Taylor Phinney, Danny Pate, Tim O’Donnell and Mirinda Carfrae. Delicious local food and dessert will be provided by Chef Biju; The Feedzone Cookbook and Ritual Chocolate.

Alongside the food and stories, the Bash for Bikes will host a combination silent/live auction featuring items from vendors such as: Cervélo, Zipp, SRAM, BMC, Shimano, Pearl iZumi, Specialized, Enduro Ceramic Bearings, Allen Lim’s Secret Drink Mix, Cateye, Newton, Rotor, Nuun, Velo Bling, Cascade Gran Fondo, Bow Haus, Chef Biju; The Feedzone Cookbook and Ritual Chocolate. Event tickets are $50 and limited to 125 people.

Proceeds from the event will be donated to World Bicycle Relief, a not-for-profit organization committed to providing access to independence and livelihood through the Power of Bicycles via the distribution of specifically designed, culturally appropriate bicycles to students, healthcare workers, entrepreneurs, and other NGOs in rural Africa. With these robust bicycles costing only $134 to distribute, World Bicycle Relief has been able to provide over 91,000 bicycles in 9 countries since the organization’s inception in 2005. World Bicycle Relief is currently funding a 50,000 bicycle distribution to students (70% to girls) in rural Zambia and Zimbabwe through its Bicycles for Educational Empowerment Program (BEEP) in an effort to break the transportation barriers that keep children from attending school and hinder progress in the developing world.
