Max Von Sydow, RIP

A long and storied career.

My all time favorite roles of his, Ming the Merciless and Brewmeister Smith.

i was surprised he was as young as he was (even though quite respectably old). Anyway RIP

Worst news of the year. Such a great actor.

He was so good in The Exorcist. I haven’t seen The Seventh Seal but have heard that it is excellent. In recent years he was The Three-Eyed Raven in Game of Thrones. RIP

Wow, I completely forgot about The Exorcist. I haven’t seen that movie since I was a kid.

A long and storied career.

My all time favorite roles of his, Ming the Merciless and Brewmeister Smith.

Ahh Ming the Merciless. Great movie. My favorite quote from the movie:

“Flash Gordon. Quarterback, NY Jets!”

I have an ongoing argument with my buddy on where we rank Flash Gordon among Jets QB’s. I put him right after Joe Willie…

He’s great in Three days of the Condor. Great Robert Redford spy flick from the 70’s. Talk about paranoia.

A long and storied career.

My all time favorite roles of his, … Brewmeister Smith.

Such an incredible and prolific actor. His interviews were often times entertaining, especially his take on doing ‘lighter movies’ because they were fun (Flash Gordon, Conan the Barbarian for instance). I liked him a lot in March or Die, a movie about the French Foreign Legion.
