The Durham, NC office of Set Up Events is looking for an intern to work approximately 15-20 hours a week. The position lasts from January 10 through May 15, 2010 and reports to the director of the Virginia Triathlon Series. This is an unpaid internship with few benefits other than beefing up your resume, a reference, free races, travel and cool swag. The ideal candidate will be able to work from home with weekly in person meetings in Durham. Much of the work can be accomplished remotely but weekly in person meetings are essential to ensure good communication and quality of work. Travel on select event weekends to Virginia will be encouraged, but is not required. Compensation for these weekends will be provided with lodging and meals covered by the company. The ideal candidate is a college student or recent graduate in the Durham/Chapel Hill area with a background in athletics and an interest in small business and event management/marketing.
