This is a great job for a technically oriented bike mechanic who wants to ultimately move into Sports Marketing. There is a lot of technical work, but also ordering, inventory, management of the team equipment and the expectation that elite athletes will have the equipment they need - when they need it.

MARKETING EQUIPMENT COORDINATOR Summary: Specialized Bicycles seeks a highly motivated cycling enthusiast that is a qualified, responsible and outgoing bike tech maestro who is equally comfortable building bikes for Olympians and organizing equipment for several teams, athletes, and domestic marketing programs. This position provides comprehensive experience for an individual seeking to build a career in sports management and professional cycling support. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Maintains all equipment for USA Domestic sponsored professional and elite amateur athletes.
  • Builds bikes for all programs including Road, Mountain, Gravity, Cyclocross and Triathlon.
  • Assists with forecasting bike, equipment and soft good needs for all programs in each calendar and model year.
  • Ensures all sponsored athletes have necessary equipment for training and racing.
  • Maintains USA Team and USA Demo program equipment cage.
  • Controls inventory for replacement parts including frames, suspension, equipment, helmets, shoes and clothing.
  • Supports Specialized Test the Best Field Marketing Program though maintaining stock of replacement equipment.
  • Manages and controls inventory of Morgan Hill based demo bicycle fleet (approximately 40 bicycles).
  • Represents Specialized at key Sports Marketing and Test the Best Events throughout US.
  • Ensure proper representation of Specialized.
  • Communicates with athletes and supplier partners to ensure all Specialized needs are met.
  • Must have an understanding of professional cycling needs in mountain bike racing, road racing and triathlon.
  • Must have experience working on high level performance bicycles for road and mountain athletes.
  • Must have experience with inventory management preferably in a bike shop or professional team program.
  • Must be extremely detailed and excel in follow through.
  • Proficient computer skills, including excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Works well under tight deadlines; multi-tasker who thrives in a fast-paced work environment.
TRAVEL § Approximately 20% of the time (8-10 trips per year)
