speedplay walkable cleats and base plate extender issue

Anyone got any solutions, or know if speedplay have a solution for making the walkable cleat work with their own base plate extender?
Screws (from the walkables) stick out 2-3mm's.... and no, Swifty does not make anything smaller.

the walkable cover just grips over the metal bottom plates not past the yellow spring housing. there should be no conflict there.

extra screw threads can be dremel'd off
