WTB: Cheap, used shifters
My brother-in-laws shifters on his bike went out, and he's looking for a set to replace them without spending an arm and a leg. He's not a hard core cyclist, just goes a few miles a day to get out there. Anyone have any that are sitting around collecting dust that they wouldn't mind getting rid of?

Are you looking for road shifters? Shimano? 9 or 10 speed (or something else)?
I might have something but it depends on what you need.

Ah, in that case I'm of no help. If you're looking for 7 speed brifters I think you'll have to find some older RSX, 105, or Sora.
Other than that, you could go with downtube (depending on the frame) or bar end shifters and use them in friction mode for the cassette.

Ok thanks anyways! For anyone else that might be able to help, he only needs the rear shifter, front is fine.

Not sure if you've already tried it, but with those older shifters a lot of times you can get them working again if you flush them really well with WD40 to clean out the gunk, let it dry, then lube it with something like tri-flow.

I don't think he has, but we can try that. Thanks for the help!
