What kind of damage did they sustain...it's hard to tell from the pics. The Bianchi's looks smashed, no? I might be interested in the Trek if it just has cosmetic issues, thanks.

The Bianchi was in a "front end collision" during a pile up in a stage race. The Trek was on a Madone that underwent a similar accident. Both forks have no visible damage to them, but in both cases I replaced the fork to be on the safe side. Looking at them you would have no idea that they were in a crash, but they were.

I think what you are seeing on the Bianchi fork is a small reflection as well as a small rub mark from a bike rack, cosmetic not structural.

The Bianchi's geometry actually looks better for my application. How tall is the steerer on it, and does it still have its crown race and star nut?

Steerer is uncut, would have to measure to figure out exactly how tall. Still has the star nut I know that for certain, I think it has the crown race as well, I will have to double check. Once I get home from work I will let you know.

sorry, I'm a noob so I can't respond to PM's yet (forum rules- I need to make 10 or 15 replies before the PM option is available). I've received several PMs from folk wanting to unload their crashed forks on me after seeing my interest in these forks. I'M ONLY INTERESTED IN THE FORKS MHOFFMAN HAS IN THIS THREAD. Thank you all for your thoughtfulness though. With that said, MHoffmam the only way we can converse is here on the thread, or via e-mail (privately). Because I don't care to make my email public here, as others may end up soliciting me w/ their broken items, can you PM your email so we can continue the final details of the transaction privately?
