Not really brutal, but hard indeed. The bike course is hilly but managable---very scenic though. The run is the real kicker. The first .8 mi. all uphill, and the run is almost entirely void of wind since it is all through the woods. And figure in the time of year (August). Hot and humid. Maybe it will rain this year???
