We have a chain called Baja Fresh.

It was great until the Wendy's mega company bought it and changed the menu. Not it blows. I never go because the chicken is runny. I'm sure the original owners made some big dollars but now it's about even with taco bell.

I'm staying at my old place in Cole Valley! I'm friends with the owner and she keeps a vacant, furnished apartment for visitors such as me! It's awesome as I get to visit my old corner store guys. :)

I have to agree, I wasn't too impressed. The food is never hot enough, heat hot not spicy hot.

Not only that, but for lunch today....

Large, fairly yummy burrito. Served to me, with water, chips, 3 salsa's, and a bucket full of spicy carrot's, onions and jalepeno's. Total price less tip and tax...5$.

Not had the Chipotles burrito but the burrito was far better than their Taco's...and this places taco's are far better as well.

Small local place, TV showing "Mexican bandstand" What more could you ask for.

We aren't "big city" and are "up North" so I can't image we have the best selection of mexican quesien<sp> but even our "Locals" beat Chipotle's, IMHO.

I do like the black bean burrito at La Salsa, but its not on the same level. ironclm and I had really good burritos after our ride a couple of weeks ago. I don't where we were though. Once we crossed the bridge I was lost.[/reply]

Actually, I couldn't find it by navigating on their site, either. But if you google "chipotle nutritional information", it's on the first page of results. I actually prefer the nutritional calculator on chipotlefan.com.

Cathy ... in your KC days, I take it you were a frequent customer on SW Boulevard (i.e., authentic Mexican restaurant Street)?

I miss Margaritas and some of the smaller, more traditional restuarants my wife would take me to.

I never lived in KC (only Manhattan and Emporia). When I would go to KC, we'd hit Westport. ;-)

Even now, Emporia has 3 excellent authentic Mexican resturants. We always hit them when I go home to visit.
