Tom D, those Conti Tubs at IMNZ...

To continue where we left off before you went to IMNZ, tells us about those Conti's you used at IMNZ. What pressure did you end up using and what was the road surface like - as bad as they predicted?

The Continental Competition 22mm tires I used at IMNZ were nothing short of excellent. I rode on the course during the week at various pressures and found out the between 105 and 110 psi was best on that pavement. That tire at that pressure soaked up the really bad stuff but still felt plenty firm enough to roll fast and corner predictably.

The roads were rough in sections. There were very, very good sections but also some pretty long, pretty rough sections. Going out to the turnaround point with a strong tailwind the pavement was not too noticeable. On the return trip into a powerful headwind it was murder. I swear it knocked off 1 mph.
