Don't know what to make of this. I wonder how much electricity it take to convert H2O to HHO- Bet a lot.

Hate to be a pessimist, but I have to hear the catch- I think my original post is on to it- how much electricity does this take?

From the web page you posted I found this-

Quote:

The HHOS has been tested in two different vehicles (the current prototype, which is a 1994 Ford Escort Wagon, and a 1998 Ford Ranger pickup) and fuel economy increases have ranged from 22.9% to 100% depending upon the amount of electrical energy (amps & volts) that are available for the production of Aquygen™ Gas.
Seems that electricity is the limiting factor here. I'll make another stab- standard tap water won't do the trick either. I bet any impurities will screw the system up big time. Probably RO water is a must- I am sure the filter people will love this.

I'm not saying it is a world changing invention. I just found the website after watching the same clip (someone emailed it to me).

The whole HHO vs. H2O thing is weird to me. Aren't they the same thing or does his special electrolysis force the hydrogen to bond to the oxygen differently than in H2O?

Very odd.

My cousin drives a hydrogen fuel cell car at work , ford test vehicle . He says it runs great , quick . But it needs laboratory grade hydrogen , any dirty gas mix will reduce it life and power output . Not cost efficient yet. They make the fuel from natural gas .

Ok well going back about 20 years to HS chem- Hydrogen is a net + of 1 and oxygen is a net Negative of -2 so in H20 the two hydrgen atoms are ionicly bonded to the oxygen. Forceing electricity over them simply replaces the two missing electrons in each of hydrogens which breaks the bond between the oxygen and hydrogen and then basic make each of the three atoms and two element free..... or something like that
