Chat GPT Writes a Swim Workout
I decided to test out Chat GPT and what type of workout it would write for an Ironman athlete training for a swim. It wasn't horrible and it wasn't great either. Better than swim workouts I've seen written by actual people. I did an analysis of the workout and where I thought it was good and where I thought it was lacking.

You can see the analysis

if you have any questions, let me know.

You want me to post examples of swim workouts that I would write?

I’ve just seen the video on the desktop version of the forum. On my mobile it doesn’t load at all, therefore my confusion.

Weird. Is it embedded in the OP? I cannot see it on mobile or desktop, and tried three different browsers.

Edit: Its a "cookies" problem. I just reloaded my browser and this time I allowed all cookies, and now I can see the video.

I keep thinking it would be really fun to fine tune a gpt model on the Slowtwitch corpus and create chatbot that would answer questions however the collective of ST would.

There's probably enough posts from a few members to make poster-specific bots too :)

To make Chatgpt work the way it does they've had to use a lot of pairs of questions/tasks and answers. It's difficult to know exactly what was included and what not but surely it must have contained a lot of publicly available forums. Maybe that included slowtwitch also?
But the process was a lot more structured than simply taking a bunch of text to avoid toxic and unhelpful answers. See Instructgpt https://arxiv.org/abs/2203.02155 .

You can fine tune a pre-trained model to output responses with specific styles / knowledge. Check out https://towardsdatascience.com/...-tuning-f85e6d1f4e30

Slowtwitch may or may not have been included, however I did check "what's the most common mistake triathletes make in their bike fit" and it responded "seat height", so possibly :)

Yes.

I have attempted to train chatgpt (GPT-4) within a single chat to answer fueling & hydration questions like I would. It gets close but it often regresses to the mean of the internet. Here's a bit of that in the vid I just posted:
