Redshift stem and the Canyon VCLS seatpost. 45mm tyre widths too. I have run tyres as wide as 2.1 inches which is really plush but its a dog on the asphalt sections then.

I've been curious about the Canyon seatpost. FYI for anyone interested, the aftermarket version is sold under the Ergon brand.

So your MTB with drop and clip-on aero bars? Did the drop bar addition necessitate a chance in frame size?
Thanks

That's not a standard MTB, it's a frame designed for 29x3" tires (the size l'm running). It's a Surly ECR, but the most similar Surly now is the Krampus with the rigid fork option:

Yes, when l bought the frameset, l factored in the top tube length when l choose my frame size. And l also use a zero offset seat post to effectively shorten my saddle to bar distance.

Cool stuff, but man.......makes me wonder what you all ride on that you consider "gravel" !!!

At some point it's just a really wide mountain bike trail with those tire needs.

I am actually riding on real crushed gravel, with occasional washboard, ruts, and potholes. But even on nice gravel, those tires just soak up vibration and bumps like nothing else.

Two products I really like are Specialized Mirror saddles and Shock Stop stems. I've not tried suspension in a fork on a gravel bike or a suspension seatpost.

In the aft, I'll second both the Ergon VCLS post, as well as the one I'm currently running on my Litespeed Ultimate G2, the EESilk carbon post.

Up front. not sure if mentioned, but consider a bar with a top section that has a bit of aero shape; that added surface helps dissipate point-loading on hits, I find, especially when riding sustained time on the tops (washboard flat terrain, broken pavement, etc.). Most any bar will have added flex in the drops, so descending in the drops will def help knock down the impacts.

But yeah, biggest one is running big tubeless tires, at low PSI as you can manage. I ride so much chunky stuff, I seldom stray from my 42mm IRC Boken Doublecross. I'll ride road at 45psi, and dump it waaaay down once I'm on the trails.
