I would've picked Mussina for baseball but then again, Mike is the most common first name in MLB...

Schmidt had a better career than Mussina. So did Mantle, if Mickey is an allowed variation.

Jalen Rose may have been the first "Jalen" in pro sports; named after his father James and his uncle Leonard

Players given that name, born in the 90s, are probably named after him

According to ESPN Stats & Information, there are currently 32 players with some variation of the name Jalen on rosters across the NBA, NFL and other major North American professional sports. Nearly 80 Jalens played men's college basketball this past season.
