We just watched Jordan Peele/Henry Selick's Halloween-ish movie Wendell & Wild

There are a couple "official" soundtracks available

Netflix

Spotify's, curated by Tunde Adebimpe of TV on the Radio

We have Death, Bad Brains, X-Ray Spex, Living Colour, Pure Hell (their poster is featured in the movie), The Specials, and more

I had heard bits & pieces of this story, or other versions of it ["Punk band ruins Prom"], but had no idea it happened in ... MONTANA!!!

Calling Barks&Purrs/Jane!!!

Rose said at one point during the evening, an administrator at the school ran up to the band waving a check and yelling "stop. Just stop. Please just leave."

The incident resulted in the school adopting a new policy for future dances, requiring bands and students to agree on the type of music to be played before a contract is signed.

Rose said that Just Ducky didn't stay together very long, breaking up after they all graduated from Hellgate High School at the end of the year. He went on to Seattle to play with other bands, helped form the Missoula Community Chorus in 2001, and worked at Sun Mountain Sports in Missoula for more than 20 years. He said the Hot Springs event didn't discourage him from his music career. And Steve Albini, the bass player for Just Ducky, went on to be a music producer and performer.

H/T to my friend Jon Solomon at WPRB Princeton for bringing this up on his show last night

... The band finally has new music to share. Though he’s been teasing a new album for a few years, Ness said it’s actually happening. The band began preproduction just before the pandemic hit and following all of the upcoming California show dates, they will hunker down to flesh out and rehearse the songs so they’re ready to go in the studio.

The plan is to release this record and then head back into the studio in one year to finish another since the band has about 40-50 songs ready to roll.

“There’s no shortage of material,” he added.
