Tried to measure, but the current was so strong probe wouldn't stay in the water :). Bring your wetsuit, it is chilly.

Does anyone know if there are any safe spots to do a practice swim before the race?

If the current is flowing like last year, you can float your way to a 70.3 swim PR.

I'm a 32-34min 70.3 swimmer and went 22mins last year.

Bumping this -- is it easy to swim before the race? Do you have to do the walk over to the start or is there a spot you can get at with a car?

I remember seeing a vid on YouTube of some pros swimming out to the island from the swim exit. I’ll see if I can find it again

You can drive to the parking lot at Minto Brown state part and have a short walk to the swim start. Just need a ride back to your car.
