I think I can answer your question.

Most tires have a removable valve core, once the core is removed the valve itself has a female thread.

Some of the Vittoria's don't have a removable valve core, the valve is embedded in the extender. When you remove the extender the valve itself is a male thread. This is a unique design to Vittoria tubulars. If this is the case you need the proprietary Vittoria extenders otherwise there is no way of installing a valve core.

Good to hear, the only ones you need are the red Vittoria ones, no other brand makes this design, Vittoria make some "standard" extenders but they are black.

An FYI, HED, Zipp, and ENVE also make valve extenders. I have used all three of these products. I am currently using the Zipp's. There are also a couple of different brands as well that make these not just Vittoria.

I have some 110 red valves if you need them. Let me know I’ll send them off. I think I have 3 or 4.
