RIP Vangelis

Responsible for some memorable scores.

Not sure there are many out there who are not familiar with Chariots of Fire.

Always enjoyed Vangelis' Heaven and Hell album. I've been listening to his Soil Festivities and China albums today.

I was momentarily taken aback when I heard Vangelis was 79, but of course it made sense as soon as I gave it some thought. He was 24 when Aphrodite's Child formed in 1967.

Time passes.

His scores for Chariots of Fire and Bladerunner are classics. A unique figure in the world of music - he leaves a great legacy. RIP.

Freedom just around the corner for you. But with the truth so far off, what good will it do?

Yes. He an Ennio Morricone were my faves for movie scores

They constantly try to escape from the darkness outside and within

His "Conquest of Paradise" used at UTMB is so emotionally inspiring and perfect for that start/finish. Goosebumps every time.

The lyrics I wrote finally came back to me

Verse
We're the Chariots Of Fire guys
We run on the beach
With baggy white shorts
And no shoes on our feet

This is for the Olympics
For Country and King
But if we don't win shit
It won't mean a thing

Bridge (updated)
Coach should've checked the tide charts
Used Surfline or Magic Seaweed
Low tide would've been better
The soft sand is killing our knees

Verse
This Chariots of Fire film
Might win some awards
But now we're all muddy
And have sand in our drawers

Thanks

I've never claimed to be much of a musician [as a bass player, I denied being any kind of a musician, in fact] but I did enjoy songwriting and making flyers for the bands I was in
