burger or gel
A question for all you smart folks

I'm new to all of this and am wondering

if I do a long run/bike (>1 hr) in my aerobic zone what type of fuel should I be taking in?

from what I have read aerobic burns fat and anaerobic burns carbs

is it a burger or a gel!

I would worry that having a burger would result in the bad kind of gel coming out my rear end.

"Fat burns in a carbohydrate flame" Think of the fat stores we all carry around as a log sitting on a grill. The carbs in the gel act like lighter fluid to ignite and burn the log.

You need glycogen in your system, and oxygen in abundance (i.e. your not anaerobic) to effectively metabolize fat.

So us Gel to burn off the burger you already had last week.

what type of gel is another whole thread
