Not sure how much overlap there is in the Venn diagram that includes the Lavender Room and fashion, but Virgil Abloh, who passed away this weekend at the age of 41, covered a lot of ground in the creative space. His cultural influence included streetwear, high-end fashion, athletic wear, shoes, architecture, music, and the distribution/presentation/consumption of all of these. Along the way he broke down some barriers and from what I can read managed to remain a pretty decent person.

Yes, I saw that as well
He got started by rescreening Ralph Lauren deadstock inventory, which is a very Punk Rock/DIY kinda thing [which always gets my attention]
"What's your claim?" - Ben Gravy
"Your best work is the work you're excited about" - Rick Rubin

Very sad and a big shock. Keeping it private to the end. A definite loss to the fashion world.
