I may certainly misunderstand it. It reads like you’re responding to someone (who is commenting on how IM talks about increasing participation but does things that actually discourage it) by pointing out that possible/future changes in participation that affect proportional allocation would mean men get screwed.

Changing to rolling starts would probably have helped. They could have also said that since they changed the race date for the women, the women would start first and the men could go later in the day. That wouldnt solve problems for people who ended up in logistical jams, and it wouldn’t keep the whole thing from being a bummer, but it would have shown that IM was trying to distribute the pain instead of piling it all in one place 🤷‍♂️
