Very inspiring story, the most inspiring may be 64 years old with a 7 year old and still going at it. I may have to get my butt out and go for a jog in the morning.

1/2 : swim: 1650yd, bike 32.5 mi, run 11.16
2/5 : swim: 1800yd, bike 25 mi, run 11.01
3/9 : swim: 1800yd. bike 25 mi, run 12
4/11: swim: 1807yd, bike 25mi, run 8.03
5/13: swim: 1602yd, bike 25mi, run 10
6/14: swim: 2000yd, bike 25mi, run 11.02
7/16: swim: 2000yd, bike 26mi, run 11
8/21: swim: 1650yd, bike 28mi, run 11.1

my nearby pool finally opened up. hit my predicted goal of 8 in a month, with some more time to get some in.

as for monthly volume:

Swim:7h 15m 15s - 22950 Yd
Bike:40h 46m 23s - 578.25 Mi
Run:29h 11m 54s - 217.03 Mi

run hit the monthly distance needed, bike on track, swim will be a miss but one of my highest volume months in 2 year thank to this challenge.

Well I seem to have been lucky so far and not had any of the injuries, setbacks, accidents/incidents that others have had - the only problem has been the interruptions from work and family.
Having said that I can definitely tell the difference when I have a day where I am only able to complete one workout of whichever discipline - the next day I feel much more lively. The fatigue is real if you aren't used to doing this volume - and I think the effort of making it to each discipline is harder than just doing the same overall workout time but bigger blocks of each discipline.

as of this morning I have completed the following:
twelve days of Olympic Tris
four days of various Olympic Du's (variations of swim-bike, swim-run, bike-run)
five days of single sport activity

my new goal is to see how close I can make it 20 tris for the month

yeah, that's the thing....each of us has our own challenge and having to make it to the start line of three sports every day for a substantial outing of each (call is 30 min dedicated to swim plus overhead, 90 min for bike inclusive of overhead, 60 min of run inclusive of overhead), makes it a grind.

If I make it to start line of swim, I always exceed 1.5km. On weekend, the bike will always exceeds. During the week, 8-10km run is easy....it is roughly 40-60 min inclusive of overhead that I can do in between meetings. The bike on weekdays is hit and miss, but usually I can catch up by weekend or over a few days

Today was a good but tough Olympic tri day

Morning was 4km run + 50km of biking, inclusive of a 40km TT on the Rouvy IM Chattanooga bike course and short commute to pool + 2200m swim (last 900m as 6x {50 fly + 100 free}. Evening easy 8km recovery run.

The 40km TT was tough. According to Rouvy 1:03, but I suspect in real life it would be more like a 1:05. Still a solid ride.

Looks like my totals are 47km swimming, 902km bike, 209.5km running with 7 days left in the month.

So it looks like I am over the mileage target for swim, 300km to go on bike and 90.5km go on run. The bike should be easy enough to hit, but I may be tight on days to log the run target by June 30th.

Today was the first high intensity day since vaccine a week ago, and I think I can start pushing. I was relunctant to do too much running post vaccine because that is the one that needs the more recovery. Today was a good intensity test with the TT so I think I can start to rev up the running now. I may need to do some run commuting to pool to add in extra run miles

15/21: swim 1750yd, bike 33.47mi, "run" 8.06mi
22: Day off for injury recovery (needed especially for the ball of the left foot because it wasn't coming back 4 days after the accident)
16/23: swim 2200yd, bike 25.16mi, "run" 10.44mi

Totals:
Swim: 47523m (vs 34500m needed) (9 days ahead, and more than needed for the month)
Bike: 622.42mi (vs 571.69mi needed) (about 2 days ahead)
"Run": 163.86mi (vs 142.92mi needed) (more than 3 days ahead)

I'm probably missing the 26th because I have a 24-hour programming competition that day at 9am. (I have to make sure which time zone because the group hosting it is from Russia.)

Glad everyone seems to be recovered.

I have to run 13km per day to hit my target. I ran 13km at lunch, and will swim and bike after work, but I don't think a single 13km run daily is the way I will get there. I think I have do divide this up into a 5km run tacked onto a swim-bike and another standalone 8km elsewhere in the day. I can now afford three days at 10km if I want to do 20km on the last day.

Whenever I have done any block involving a running mileage target it is almost NEVER a good idea when you have to do a big amount in the last few days. It works for swimming and biking, but not that well with running. Running its better to chew it off evenly.

You could not bribe pool staff to let you bring it on deck?

My evening was awesome. Lifeguards let me in early so I got a 65 min 3100m swim....last set was 200 fly, 100 free, 100 fly, 100 free, 50 fly, 50 free, 50 fly, 50 free, 50 fly, 50 free, 50 fly, 50 free, 100 free (so ~1km of half fly half free)!!!! plus 25km of bike commuting. So a solid tri day. Not a full Olympic tri, but extra on swim and run today with the 13km at lunch time run

17/24: swim 2200yd, bike 25.19mi, run 6.42mi
18/25: swim 1650yd, bike 25.11mi, run 7.08mi

Totals:
Swim: 51043m (vs 37500m needed) (9 days ahead, more than needed for month)
Bike: 672.72mi (vs 621.40mi needed) (still about 2 days ahead)
"Run": 177.35mi (vs 155.35mi needed) (about 3 days ahead)

I (now 10 pounds lighter) promised myself if I could keep this up for 10 days I would get some new cycling shoes, but I haven't had time to. Now my right cycling shoe is angry it can't go into retirement (I think the pair is over 30 years old), so it's going on strike by having the upper part separate from the lower!

All right, I'm "off" tomorrow (because of the 24-hour bioinformatics programming competition starting at 9am) but hope to be back on track on Sunday. (I might be a little tired.) Hopefully the right shoe will hold out until I can get a new one.

Best of luck to all. (Here (DC area) we'll be pretty warm, with 87 tomorrow, 91 Sunday, and 94-97 for the last 3 days of the month, and our A/C is out.)

It looks like I am 4 days ahead on swim, 0.5 days behind on bike and 1.7days behind on run with 4 days to go. Given that I lost two days of progress in the middle due to vaccination, and then 3 light days where I fell further behind, this seems like the limit of catch up as I did not want to overdo things in the first week after vaccine. So I am the first 3 days of my second week post vaccine and figure that I the amout I am doing is just right and wrapping up on July 1st (Canada day Holiday) is a great way to end up this challenge. 1 day late, but given vaccination mid way, it will be a good way to celebrate getting to the mileage target

From what I see there were 4 days that I did not do a triathlon of some kind. Other than that every day it was somewhere from a sprint to an olympic to a 1.5 olympic day. I think so far my longest run day is 16km, longest bike day is 90km, longest swim 3000m. Basically I kept it at a level that if could get out of bed the next day and crank out an Olympic tri physically if I managed the rest of my life to fit it in (and I don't even have kids to worry about....just work and train).

If I can't do any racing in August then I may given this another try. I actually found it quite fun getting to 20+ hrs weeks with decently high quality in all sports. I don't think any of this ended being survival other than maybe one run. Biking and swimming was all quite high quality. I probably gave away some higher effort running and doing hills just to play it safe.
