Bric workout as part of interval training
Quote | Reply
Tomorrow my run program has written (from strava) 10-20 minutes warm up/ez run, 6-8 1km cruise interval and 10-20 minutes cool down.

Any opinions about the idea to do one hour easy on bike as warm up and perhaps 5 minutes easy run before the intervals?

It depends what you want to get from the session.

If you want optimal run training ride the bike after the session for the extended endurance.

If you want run of the bike feeling then warm up on the bike, do a hard efforts / opener then head straight in to the run session. Warm down on the bike for extra endurance.

That's a good idea, I usually do something similar.

Thanks a lot to both of you. I guess my weekly training total is that low, that it is better to improve my amount of tri specific training and volume in general. So I stick to the plan as Karla says (also because a bike ride after kids are in bed, but before dark is possible, then intervals after the sun is down, is more fun, than riding in the dark).

I love easy spins prior to running. Yeah, I'm old-ish so warming means more to me now than when I was younger. I always find the running feels smoother right out the door and pace is fast relative to RPE after an easy hour spin beforehand.
