Rouge Roubaix XX returns in 2022!
If you know, you know! Rouge Roubaix XX returns on March 12, 2022. The twentieth edition of 105 miles of gravel, bombed out country roads, and a little smooth asphalt is just the beginning. The steep hills and high humidity of southwest Mississippi and east central Louisiana and the unpredictable weather add to the challenge. A classic hard man's race!

It'll be interesting to see how the surge in gravel will impact participation next year. The Mid South will be right around this same time - hopefully it won't be the same weekend.

RR is definitely unlike any road cycling race in the region! Below is the link to the ST story and a video Lars Finanger put together from a few years ago.

I haven't seen confirmation yet but I'm pretty sure that's the same weekend as Mid South. As best I recall, it's usually the first weekend of Spring Break for Oklahoma State each year which happens to be that same week.

I have no doubt the people at 4D will bring this race back bigger and better than when the parish decided to enact an ordinance that caused the cancelation of races. Will the Mid-South compete with this ride. Yes, but this is first and foremost a bike race not a gravel race. Separate Cat 1/2, Cat 3, Cat4/5 races, etc. The course was/is primarily crappy country roads with three/four dirt sections. Some years its tame and others its a mud fest. Being one of the only amateur road races left that is not a circuit race. I don't think this will pull gravel riders/racers away from the Mid-South, but it could pull cyclists to West Feliciana. It historically hasn't been a massive race by any accounts but it was always the largest turnout on the LAMBRA calendar. It was always a fun weekend! I am happy to see this race coming back. Just sad that I won't be able to participate/support anymore after moving away.
