Budget Cycling Computer

I for years used an old Cateye GPS computer without ANT/BLE capabilities to record my rides. Well it turns out Cateye no longer supports it so there's no way to get data off. Ergo - I'm in the market for a cheap computer (i.e. <$100). It'd be nice if it had ble or ant so i could pair a HRM strap, but not necessary. No power on my bike, but I'd consider a speed/cadence sensor if the computer had BLE/ANT. Rather not run down my phone battery recording there, but a quadlock mount is the backup option i suppose.

What do you have for me?

I used my phone for a couple years when I first got into riding. That is, until it died in the middle of my first 50 mile ride and I lost all my data.

After that I sucked it up and bought the Garmin 130 + speed/cadence sensor package for $200 bucks. Super simple, works really well. Plus it supports a power meter when you eventually get one.

If you are carrying your phone with you (jersey pocket, etc.) then you can get an old Wahoo RFLKT cheap. Basically, your phone (with the Wahoo app) pairs to the sensors, and the RFLKT works as the head unit (connected via BTLE to the phone). This way the phone stays off (app running in background) and the battery life isn't an issue.

There are some on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/...w=rflkt&_sacat=0

If you are interested, I have one I'm no longer using. I needed a head unit I could use for races, and USAT doesn't let you carry a phone).

I just got a Stages Dash L10. You can pick them up right now fir $75 usd (I paid 120 in Canuck bucks).

It was a little finicky to pick up GPS the first time I used it, but the last couple of times it locked on within seconds (ie every time since that first ride) Nice screen too, way easier to read than my old Garmin 910xt “head unit/watch”

If you don’t have a pm, that’s fine, just configure the screens how you want with the app. Then reconfigure once you get a power meter.

I've been using a Bryton 310 for a few years. $75. Very pleased with it. Great battery life (30hrs). Ant+ sensors. Works fine... except it doesn't record speed from my Powertap hub. Picks up power, heartrate, and other speed sensors.
