Plantar plate/lateral ligament

Hi all,

I’m looking for the collective wisdom. 5 weeks ago I hurt the ball of my foot (it was like the lateral ligament was stretched is the best was to describe it) since then the pain/discomfort has improved but it’s still not great. When walking it’s like the middle section of the Fore foot is landing flat on the ground. I’m having to scrunch my toes to balance and keep the lateral arch shape of my forefoot. I thought that I might have torn the plantar plates but actually writing this makes me think maybe not. As I can still scrunch my toes tight and flex them up without discomfort. It’s worth noting that if I wrap 2 tight bands of kt tape around it then it can actually feel relatively normal as it holds the shape of the arch a little.

Any suggestions on how to rehab this? I’d usually head to a physio but not sure they’ll be much help (also I’m a little skint!)
