TLDS: would it be possible to have the remainder of the screw stuck inside the drop-out be tapped and removed?
Long version: I had backed out each drop-out screws of my TT bike (Plasma 3 TT) by about 3 mm to gain additional clearance, and this was a non issue for the most part. The other day, I noticed something weird while taking the bike off of my trainer, as the NDS screw appeared to have been all the way in (as to be flush with rest of the drop-out), while the DS screw is still clearly backed out about 3 mm.
So I tried to get the NDS drop-out screw backed out today, only to realize that it's probably shorn off. Perhaps the stress of being bolted onto a direct mount trainer was just too much.
Also, what could I do in the future to avoid something similar from happening (other than turning the screws all the way into the drop-out)?
