I remember way back when I was a semi pro bike racer and full time triathlete pro, and Roy was this super young kid busting onto the scene. He had instant success, and as I recall, rode for a top team in Santa Barbara. That team had lots of that days stars too, so he was in good company.
Lost track of him until I did the Santa Barbara triathlon during my AG career, and there he was dominating his AG too. He was a really good duathlete, but swam good enough to do well in longer triathlons in the older AG's. Not sure if they mentioned that in the interview, I did not see that. So for sure he must be a big fan of cross training for most, and a little for the pointy end of cycling too I bet..
The pic of him freaked me out though, I still have this kid image in my head of him, and even when I saw him over a decade ago, he still looked similar to that kid..
