This is the thing you're looking for. Real brand, well made, easy to use, not terribly expensive, hits pretty much every rating you'll need for a bicycle.

When you outgrow that wrench, you'll not need other's opinion on which one to replace it with.

FYI, CDI and Williams is the industrial line of tools owned by Snap-On. There isn’t much better than this. Nice tool.

I use CDI and snap on for my cars, but I use Park on my bikes. Similar tool, but pre-fixed.

I also have a Park that is adjustable, but it’s a 1/4” ratchet style. I have the 4,5,6 nm pre-fixed tools and use those most often.

I've had the Park Tool adjustable one for years - https://www.parktool.com/...egory=Torque%20Tools

Never had a problem or issue with either it or what I am working on.

It's a bit on the heavy side, and we travel with the bikes a moderate amount, and it's the heaviest thing in the traveling tool kit!

They're currently out of stock, but for the vast majority of bike applications the Silca torque tube is plenty. Because it's a deflection type wrench, t's also pretty idiot proof; just don't exceed the max value. No need to unwind or worry (all that much) about the internal works.

I own a couple/few torque wrenches, but this is probably the one that gets the most use. It's also really great as part of a travel kit.

It’s my favorite too

I saw this one on your site, and I've had my eye on it for a while:

Any reason that I wouldn't consider it as opposed to the "t" style ones? One thing that concerned me is the dual scale - just seems like any time you are dealing with that there is one primary scale (usually inch pounds) and it is hard to get the exact NM setting you desire. Also, what is the measurement for on the bottom of the handle? It is set to zero in the picture.

One usually needs several in different ranges.

I own a few but the Silca one has been my go-to under 8Nm, and my favorite for larger torque specs is the CDI 752MFRMH, which has a range from 7-100Nm. (5-75 ft-lbf)

Bikes usually only require up to about 35Nm for cranks, and I think Shimano cassettes spec 25 Nm.

It is hard to find a torque wrench that encompasses these higher values as most smaller ones stop shy of 20Nm but are practically too bulky for most bike applications. Torque wrenches that start in this higher range tend to span rather extreme values for most home mechanics.

This is why I recommend something for very tight spots, and a larger one that can handle 99% of larger bike and auto applications.

I use this one for up to 16 Nm. Slowman did a review of it a while back.

Much cheaper to source overseas, like at probikekit.com.

For larger Nm needs, like pedals, bottom brackets, cassettes, etc. I use the Park Tool model.

Neither are cheaper, but nice tools are long term investments that can be used for years.

Big fan of the first one -- the Guistaforza. I've been using mine for over 10 years
