Waco 70.3 Swim

For anyone who has done the Waco 70.3, what is your opinion on the temp of the water?

Is it too cold for a short sleeve wetsuit or is a long sleeve necessary?

Swim happened only once in that race and it was unusually cold.
I wore a sleeveless wetsuit and that was a mistake, but sleeveless should be okay for Waco 70.3.
A day before was warm and great but temp dropped big time over night.
Texas weather does suck especially around that time of the year. .

I did Waco last year. I only owned a sleeveless. Watching temps as the race approached, I wound up borrowing a sleeved suit from a buddy. Glad I did. Water that morning was fresh.

I did Austin several years back. Same time of year. That morning air temps were in the 50s but water temp was in the 70s. I swam in a sleeveless with no issues. The water actually felt warm compared to the air.

I would probably have both (or at least access to both) if at all possible. Texas temps that time of year can be all over the place.
