vision non series modular aero crankset BB question
Quote | Reply
I just ordered a cervelo S2 that I will be using for I IM Nice 2020.
This frame has a rotor 30 BBright BB.
Can I use this BB in combination with a vision non series modular aero crankset BB386

Does anyone have experience with this crankset?

Yes, you should be able to use a BB386 on a BBright bike with that Bottom Bracket

I have one on my P2. However, you will need a spacer on the drive side. I don't remember if it's 9 or 11mm or something else. I'll look it up.

Looks like 7.5mm

You'll need this:

Thanks Jaretj. For my good understanding.
Is this because the spindle lengt of FSA 386 cranks is wider than the spindle length of Rotor 30 mm cranks?
I can't find the spindle length info of rotor cranks.

I believe it's slightly smaller than the rotor.

I put an BB386 on a friends P2 and didn't initially have the correct spacer. I use one from a rotor 3d+ to BBright but was unable to tighten up to spec because the spacer was slightly bigger. Since he was using the bike on the trainer we went with that for a week until I got the correct one.

To make it more complicated it seems Rotor had in the past on PF30 bottom bracket for all 30 mm press fit standards (PF30, BBright , 386 EVO) and differenct spacer kits to take up the difference in the width.

Today it seems Rotor has multiple BB's compatible with BBright
-PF30 like in the past
-universal BB UBB4630 - screw together type
-UBB4630 BBRight
-UBB4630 386

My god what a mess
I have spent 3 hours of my life into this and it is still a gamble

I have installed a Lightning BB386 crank on to a BBright frame. So, your vision crank should work; it just depends on how many shims you need on either side to make it work (as other people have commented on above). In my case, I only needed to fiddle with the threaded ring on the NDS crank to take out all the excess play.

The Vision Modular Aero crank will fit your bike with the correct BBright to 386Evo adapter.

If I ever want to change the chainrings on this crankset, what type of rings do i need? (both inner and outer)

This crank does use specific chain rings that you would be able to order directly from us. They are 110 BCD aero chain rings.
