Try the Infinit 5 hr challenge. You can make a custom mix and try it out without a significant cost to start. I have 2 different custom Infinit mixes I made. One for Olympic distance and one for Half+ distance. If you plan to take any liquid nutrition for the run though make sure it does not have any protein. It will foam really bad when you shake it.

Another upside if you like the Infinit is there is a team discount. ;-)

I tried Infinit back in 2017 for a 70.3. Ended up with horrible side stitches. I want to try again, but I am still apprehensive. Skratch has me sold on their Cluster Dextrin. Does it work? I have no idea, but when I'm doing longer 70.3 pace rides, I can tolerate that much better than anything else I've tried.

Before I stopped wasting money I used to mix 8 gels in a bottle then top it off with water to make it liquidy for all my calories for 70.3. Then I listened to Jonnyo and went the bulk Malto route and spent like $30 total on race nutrition in 4 years.

Gels are liquid. Not solids.

Hmmm........

Are you inferring that gels are solids?

I recently began using liquid nutrition as a one-stop shop on the bike. I've used Skratch Labs's new Superfuel mix. It works really well, but damn... it's expensive.

Any other alternatives worth trying? Tailwind? Infinit Go Far? Others?

Infinit fan here. Used to be a mix of gels and other drinks but the gels were just too unpredictable in terms of how they would make me feel on the bike.
I did go with Maurten last year, there 160 and 320 drinks are supposedly ideal for all you need on the bike. I find their gels really good but have found the drinks to just be a bit sickly.

I go with Hammer Perpetuem in one bottle and PH 1500 in another. Then I pick up water along the course. I will carry 3-4 gels as backup in case I lose a bottle, which has happened to me twice.
