Helmet Question Post Accident
So I crashed my bike last week. Was riding a trail with a friend and a little girl popped out on her bike. I hit the brakes and flew over the handlebars. Messed up my face including a bad split of my upper lip. Helmet barely scratched. I had a concussion and do not remember anything about the accident.

So looking to get a new helmet but, for my own piece of mind, would like one that meets all standards but maybe has some sort of face protection which goes across my nose/mouth.

Has anyone ever seen a helmet like this? Any options appreciated!

Sorry to hear about your accident, hope you recover quick.

Trail as in MTB or rail trail? Only thing I can think of is a full face helmet, which is primarily used for MTB.

This one has a removable face guard.

Should have been more specific. Riding my Cervelo P Series road bike on paved bike trail. So looking for a helmet that is normal aero/TT type helmet, but has a bar in front to protect chin/mouth area. I saw a prototype online but nothing in production.

P series is a tt/tri bike, not what I would describe as a road bike.

A mouth/chin guard would be very un-aero so I think it will be hard to find anything like that. The closest I've seen would be the MTB helmet posted above. For training, it doesn't really matter what you wear (although you would probably get odd looks on a P series in that helmet), and for racing you can go back to a regular tt helmet.

But your best bet is to not ride your tt bike on a bike trail.

No helmet recommended in that case ;-)

Quick recovery! Like others said, full guard might be MTB helmets you probably don’t wanna wear on your TT / road bike.
