Olympic Distance Training
I'm not a fan of long distance. I don't do 70.3 and will likely never do 140.6 because I like the speed of the shorter formats (it feels more like regular racing than just a long time trial and I have a mild obsession with ITU which I'll never compete in but I like to pretend I could). With that in mind, are there any resources out there for how triathletes should structure their training weeks? If you google this sort of stuff you find lots of info for beginners, but not much for those that want to compete predominately in the olympic/XTERRA formats. Triathlon in general is IM crazy so finding training resources for those that want to race shorter stuff is harder to come by outside of picking apart interviews from ITU racers about their training.

I used the 80/20 level 3 Olympic plan to get ready for a race in the spring.

I thought it was a good resource to use.

another 80/20 user and fan here. they have several different levels to choose from depending on your goals and how much time you want to dump in it.

I’m in the same boat as you. I don’t understand the IM obsession and much prefer the shorter stuff too! Would love to see anything you find.

Thanks for the offer, but I'll pass. My life has a strange schedule that often leads me to have lose plans for my training weeks, especially with COVID messing with my kids' school schedule, so I'd prefer to learn and understand the principles instead of taking a plan from someone else. It's super generous though and I really appreciate it!
