Bike routes in Vancouver
I live in Vancouver and I would like to ride out to Alouette lake, about 70 km one way, according to Google maps. I rode this route way back but now it seems that the roads have changed since then. Google map bike planning takes me out to highways which looks quite dangerous for riding, as far as I can tell from the satellite map. Has anybody ridden there?

I've been there from Tsawwassen with no highways. You should be able to avoid highways by going through Port Moody & Coquitlam, maybe a stop at Yellow Dog brewery on the way back. Best to use Strava heatmaps to find the popular bike routes.

Depends where in Vancouver you are as to which way to go..I use Ride with GPS for plotting routes all over the world..Super easy and never had an issue..I download to my Garmin 1030 and away I go.
