650b interchangeable with 700?
I have a 2014 CAADX Ultegra with disc brakes. I don't have a mountain bike and have been throwing around the idea of going 650b/tubeless with some beefy tires to conquer some single track (and whatever else I may get into). Is it as simple as buying a new set of wheels and swapping 'em, so long as the tire fits?

Yep, as long as your frame is wide enough to accept the bigger tires you'd be running on the 650 everything else should be fine.

Here is a quick conversion chart to help:
700C x 23mm = 668mm = 650B x 42mm
700C x 28mm = 678mm = 650B x 47mm
700C x 32mm = 686mm = 650B x 50mm

I'd be surprised if a 2014 frame spec'd with 700's would also fit 650's. It's more and more common today but I don't even think it's the majority at this point.

This is a good page that explains where to measure on the chainstays etc to see where the main tire width will end up.

It's useful because some bikes have chainstays dimpled for clearance exactly where a 700C tire lands, but otherwise don't really have space where a 650b tire would be.
