WTB 48-50 cm road bike
Quote | Reply
Hey Slowtwitch,

Looking for a small road bike for a friend and a new mom looking to get back into tri and riding. She's 5'1" or 5'2" on a good day.

Material and brand agnostic.

Max budget is $2k. Lower is better - babies are an expensive habit.

Whatcha got?

Thanks.

Specialized Allez Junior. size 49. Bought a month ago when a LBS closed, wrong size. My kid rode it maybe 3 or 5 miles.

I was thinking about aiming a little higher, but what do you want for it?

I have a 50cm F75X. Here are the specs:

50cm Felt F75X
Force 22 Shifters, Front/Rear Derailleur
Ultegra 11-30 Cassette / 11 Speed
Power2Max PM w/ Rotor Cranks / SRAM Rings
Zipp SL70 Service Course Bar
TRP CX8.4 Brakes
Flo 30 Wheels / Conti GP4000s Tires

It's been used and is in good working order.
It has no dents and has not been crashed.
It does have white paint issues, it's flaking in some areas, but it's only cosmetic.

Thanks all. I have followed up on the Synapse and the Felt.

Good options.

Anyone else have a road bike to move that would be good for a 5'1-5'2" woman?

No worries, it's definitely low end, so understand that. I'd probably go $600 shipped.

My wife had a GURU 401 carbon tri bike that she used only for 200 miles. It's now sitting in the garage. Not a roadie. Let me know if you'd like more details. Would fit under your $2K budget.

I could do $1950 with new Fulcrum C17 wheelset.
It's Lapierre Xelius EFI Ultimate Highest Grade Carbon (like S-Works). XS size.
Top-class bike by LaPierre, as used by FDJ Team at Tour De France.
Used for 6k miles, hence minor dents and scratches.
Comes with Dura Ace 9000 groupset (crankset is Dura Ace 9100, rear derailleur is Ultegra 8000);
Handlebar: full carbon EC90 by Easton (MSRP $300+);
Stem: Ritchey Carbon (MSRP $180+);
Loaded seatpost.
