No longer live in Iowa but have a couple well connected DSM area friends and Ironman athletes that tell me its full speed ahead. I’ll be committing as much time to pool as possible and be ready for Oct 4. All my best with your training and race.

No longer live in Iowa,but it is worth noting they did just cancel their state fair that was supposed to happen mid-August (first time they've cancelled it since WW2). Granted that's an event that can see 100k+ people per day so it's a larger scale than Ironman, but still worth noting that not everything is on track and schedule as normal.

I used to live in DM - weather can be dicey in early October in my opinion. I’m surprised it’s scheduled that late in the fall.

I bet. Avg high/low are 68/47. Water temps will likely be around 64-65.

Seriously, there's discussion now about whether cyclocross season will happen at all. Numbers are suppressed, Iowa does little testing or contact tracing. Will the race happen? Maybe. Will it be safe? Anyone's guess.

Surprised that is scheduled. All my Iowa cycling events- clear lake, ames grand prix, are cancelled, even the late August ones. Not sure if there will be a 'cross season in Iowa or MN.

Wisconsin is more open.
