Long Chile was a silly place.

Seriously? My brother & I probably have at least 8 different boats/watercraft between us, and ‘the pitcher’ is right behind the paddles/motor/oars & lifejackets as critical equipment. In a pinch, you can even use it to bail (not the other way around, unless you’re the kind of dumbass who figures to swamp his vessel more often than you gotta take a leak).

It scared him TBH but I think it was a good lesson for him. We were both ok both safe. We could have managed to get out of the water with some work (the shore is just lined with reeds where we flipped) but I thought it would be easier just to bail out the canoe. Once it was low enough I got him out of the water and into the boat while I kept bailing.

Now he thinks it’s funny.

He caught 16 fish that day, three more than his previous best so he was pumped about that when we left for home.

I dunno about most of your post, but it seems like you scored a decent crappie and a pretty sizeable bluegill in your adventure.

Three crappies that big. And at least 10 bluegills that big.

Honestly I have never seen that many fish sunning themselves are once.

The bass weren’t big but I wasn’t fishing for them. I am certain that if I put something bigger on (we were using #1 size Mepps) I would have caught some quality bass too. There was a decent sized one protecting his nest right beside the dock.

All of my boats have cups and “pee cups” on them because I am captain Bligh and don’t let people use the heads. Pay attention and don’t mix them. Not much good for bailing, but if you get to the point that your bailing a 10,000+boat with a cup your probably already screwed

Back at the in-laws. Tough day today. Doing the same things and a total of three tiny fish.

LCTriguy I even put on non-cargo shorts and had a button up plaid shirt (and my dress Crocs). Better?
