Suck it up, buttercup, and quit yer whining

She's 15.

Quote:
Jyoti Kumari and her dad had nearly no money, no transport, and their village was halfway across India.

And her dad, an out-of-work migrant laborer, was injured and could barely walk.

So Jyoti told her dad: Let me take you home. He thought the idea was crazy but went along with it. She then jumped on a $20 purple bike bought with the last of their savings. With her dad perched on the rear, she pedaled from the outskirts of New Delhi to their home village, 700 miles away.

100 miles a day with that load is pretty incredible.

No kidding! And to do it for multiple days, and on a bike like that. Makes me feel a bit ridiculous talking about carbon frames and disc wheels. I'd be willing to bet that less than 1% of the world's population could hop on a bike today and ride consecutive 100 mile days. A good story in difficult times.

Her saddle was too high and she could have saved 15 minutes if she'd used wider tyres at lower pressure on those rims.

We all know that without a coach, a carefully crafted multi month program and a hand held taper, this sort of thing is impossible.I mean, she didn't even have an individually created nutrition plan..

Maybe it was her "B ride" for the year.

Wouldn't it be great if her route became an annual event?

The more people I encounter the more I love my cats.

Like I always say, the Ironman ride should be the longest 700mi ride with a dude on the back of your bike of your season....

Aeroweenie assuming 18hr days says for 0.400 CdA and .006 CRR and 0.2% avg grade that it would take about 25 watts non-stop at a pretty hefty combined weight.
