shimano GRX inline hydro levers -- anybody using them?
Looking for some real world feedback on these.

Am currently using cane creek cross top levers on my gravel bike, but if I move to hydraulic braking, those will of course not be an option. So I was wondering if anyone here has had the chance to install and use the shimano GRX inline hydro brake levers. How well do they work, how difficult are they to install, how do they work exactly, what is the hose routing, etc.
Thanks.

I don't have them installed, but I've used them. They work great. If you like Runkel levers with your cable actuated brakes, you'll probably like these more as lever feel is better.

I haven't installed them myself, but I'm told that it is as easy as it looks to be from the manual. If you are familiar with install/bleed procedures for Shimano brakes, shouldn't be much of a problem.

Hose routing is basically identical to how you would run brake housing for cable actuated levers, just completely insensitive to bend radius.

Thanks for the input. Yes, l find the runkels to be invaluable when (1) weaving through unpredictable kids/dogs/pedestrians on various bike paths, and (2) when descending down quite steep short dirt drops when l need to slide my rear end way off the back of the saddle for better weight distribution ... but still be able to access both brakes.

Yup, benefits of the concept are pretty clear. I was part of the generation of CX riders that all had Runkel levers on our bikes, before the influence of MTB geometry really took over and we all realized our reach was just too damn long.

I imagine we'll see this repeat with gravel bikes, as the recapitulation of mtb/cx bike design evolution continues. For folks that want to combine road bike hood reach with mtb(ish) handling, this is clearly the answer though.
