I've personally never understood why IM gets any volunteers. I have volunteered for many community or non-profit events, but I don't see any reason to provide free volunteer labor for a corporation.

Off topic, but my understanding is that the Ironman Foundation is just a conduit to pass money to groups that volunteer. If your non-profit is willing to volunteer for a race, IM Foundation will donate money to your organization. In other words, race volunteering is a fundraiser for your non-profit organization.

I don't see how we get to mass sporting events in CY2020.

Do you live in the United States? While the infection and mortality rates have been very high, there is a big push to open back the economy. I think October is a long way away. I live in Kentucky, and we have a democratic governor that has been very cautious about the pandemic. He's done a good job relative to other states. Youth sports are to resume in June. I would think there is a possibility for IM Louisville in October.

So what's your current assessment on the likelihood of IM Louisville in 2021?
