Bike computer with manual start/stop
My old bike computer packed it in. Easy enough to get a new one, except that i want a feature that most don't: manual start/stop.
I have searched here and online and it seems to be an option no one wants anymore as almost every unit is auto start/stop.

I don't need or want an expensive unit with GPS and a lot of bells and whistles, just a simple inexpensive unit, wired preferred. Appreciate any suggestions..

In my experience with mid range garmin GPS computers (500, 520,530) you can turn auto start/stop on or off in the settings.

I would assume that many other computers work the same way.

Maybe see if manufacturers have manuals for models you are interested in you could download. Then you can look through the settings and see if you have the option to turn off the auto start/stop.

You can manual start/stop a Garmin Edge. That's the default setting. Not sure what the issue is.

Looking at specs/manuals the only cateye model that explicitly mentions manual start stop is a different model the micro wireless https://www.cateye.com/...computers/CC-MC200W/

I use both auto stop/start and manual start and stop at the same time in my Garmin 500. auto can be disabled. Auto start/stop can be set to a certain speed, I think I have mine at 3mph, but can be set to any speed. I then use manual to stop and start if I am going to be slowly approaching a light or circling a parking lot waiting for others at more than 3mph.

Your picture points to auto start stop.

The original poster said they want manual start stop.

Looking at cateyes comparison chart https://www.cateye.com/...puter_comparison.pdf The only computer that mentions manual start/stop is the micro wireless.

I stand corrected! I just assumed auto start/stop is what the OP was looking for and did not read with attention to detail!

I would be surprised if many comps don't allow a manual start stop. Auto may be an added feature, but manual would normally be a standard 'given'.

For example many digital watches will state they have a stopwatch function in the features, but I've never seen one that lists 'tells the time'.

For the record then all the garmin edge series have the option to either manual or auto. Indeed the later ones let you tune the auto should you wish to define what's a start and what's a stop. FWIW I always use manual, always have and probably always will.

I have some old Sigma bike computers (I think I have a wired one and a couple of wireless). They are just collecting dust since I moved to having a Garmin years ago. Be glad to send you one, just cover shipping. PM if interested.
