Ftp targeting without base
I've slowly stated to ramp up some training on zwift, haven't completed too many base Miles this year (3hrs a week avg) - will starting a ftp plan on zwift be beneficial at this stage or focus on building the aerobic engine through z1 or z2 training.

Current ftp est around 220, highest few years ago 280. 87kg.

Thanks!

How much time do you have each weak to train?

With everyone on lock down up to about 13 hours a week

If your are only cycling than you will see improvements from 13 hours of Z2 riding but I would put some tempo/low SST into some workouts to brake it up.

My experience is while CTL is rising due to volume of Z2 (with some Z3) then keep going when your volume is not enough to continue to push the CTL higher then it is time to put in more intensity.

Thanks!

Probably wouldn't hurt to just ride a bit for the next few weeks. Let any hills be your intensity training. Then worry about more structured intervals
