FREE TRAINING ON YOUTUBE DURING THE PANDEMIC
Quote | Reply
Hello. Here is the info.

I am an ex pro Triathlete ( 4th IMC 2012) that is now an age grouper going to Kona for 40-45 age group .I have worked 17 years as a Kinesiolgist, Trainer and coach. #konatop40

Anyways I usually only train clients and athletes in person as that is the only way to can make changes that lead to proper gains and keep evaluating, but now that I am not working 8-12 hours a day and my clients and athletes cannot come to my group sessions and some are in 14 day quarantine. ( Brag we have been one of the tri top clubs at IM whistler 70.3 last two years, and I think if you go by points per athlete per race we were top 5 in Canada. This is uncomfirned due to the new Ironman site?? And I didn't get to add all are points from Ironman Arizona to the equation.)

I have made youtube videos for them to watch and other to help you out in the pandemic. I am not selling anything. I will get paid again by once everyone is back to normal. This is my way off helping.

Here is my first post a 70- 90 min bike tempo workout with lots of stuff in between.
It's funny and hard so do what you can. They will get harder and better for focus as our group is all missing out on your races so we are going back to short hit intervals soon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRVa_dG8Yl0

Here is my first strength workout for at home with no equipment. 30 min

https://www.youtube.com/...bdQswCpqfg&t=46s

I will post this videos throughout the Pandemic and make others that cover. How to run better without a Treadmill option. How you can swim better without a pool. How to be faster without trying to hard. Why you can't lose wt with all those miles. And of course your seat is too high.

I will not teach skills like I do with clients and some other info as I have to see what you do wrong first. But anyways enjoy, subscribe and share.

Be safe and see everyone at the race eventually, swimming slow and biking fast due to lifestyle changes.

Technique will always last longer then energy production. Improve biomechanics, improve performance.

OK MAKE SURE you finish with zone 2 for 15-20 minutes. After I cut out.

That way you get used to Ironman pace and riding with Fatigue. not "FAT" igue.

Next week is going to be threshold zone 4 work with me on the roller and then the next one Hard short effort with me trying not to fall off the rollers.

Enjoy once I fix my treadmill I will do some " who to make the treadmill fun workouts."

Have a good training session.

I was going to post a cycling video but it was to nice outside so I had to go for my first ride on my new whip. Was a good ride still alot of cars for the current situation?

I will ride my new Ventum ONE on the rollers this weekend and make a threshold video of 5 min Intervals with some spice in them.

ENJOY.

Just a fun video of my trying Zwift for the first time and then I tried a race today and this is what happened.

I sucked and got destroyed.
I put out 271 W for 23:50 min and was 64th out of 79? This as any race I have done would put me in the top 5%.

Guess I need to stick to hilly courses only as unfortunately for a guy like me 63.5 kg this not like real racing. I got killed on the little uphills even with 3 watts per kg more then other riders?

Enjoy I will post a interval workout next week on Monday or Tuesday. My legs are dead from 14 days of hard work.

Thanks for making these videos, we need all the help we can get!

Zwift has a few things going on working against you (some cheating, understanding the game aspects, getting the hang of drafting, etc.) so try not to get discouraged.

I know zwift has its issues. I am using it for the situation right now.

The races should have standard like everyone has to have a smart trainer calibrated.

The guy that won that stage did 4.7 watts per kg and avg 418 so he is 89 kg. It was a flat stage. Now how was that measured if you just have a wahoo speed and cadance sensor he may not have any tension on the wheel.

I will keep playing and have fun I am going to go for some climbing times as my goal on my hard days.

Howdy from down the #1. I pretty much made the same "progression" as you rollers, CompuTrainer (DOS), and now Zwift. (going on 3 weeks now).

Those "Real Course" videos that we can play on our CT are pretty cool and I think may (?) be more beneficial for good race day results on those courses. That platform really promotes doing "your" race. Zwift promotes responding to others.

I need to align my cassette as well, when things really heat up, a few missed or slow shifts here and there can make a big difference.

Enjoy the experience! Oh yeah & in Zwiftspeek.... "ride on Anthony!"
