Well we already have a president taking a very selective read of the constitution and calling for the imprisonment of his political rivals, we have unaffordable healthcare, widespread malnutrition and voter suppression disenfranchisement and gerrymandering. I’ll grant you the government’s not massacring us in the streets yet but seems only fair we get an advance on the socialized healthcare and education no?

I thought the Dems. fixed this with their promised affordable care act?
The GOP had 2 full years with the House and Senate after spending 8 years saying they were going to replace Obamacare. So, what have they accomplished?
Isn't it time the GOP takes responsibility for their lack of a plan?

No and yes. Love him or hate him there's no question he'd govern in accordance with the rules and norms of our government in a way Trump refuses to. So holding my nose for him in the general would be a necessary step back towards restoring faith in our institutions. The kicker is that also means most of his least popular proposals won't happen and the downside's a lot more limited than red scarers like to pretend.I think I agree with this.
I find this forum very eye opening (in a good way). I'm firmly pro-Bernie even though I think a lot of what he tries to pass will be blocked. I think worse case scenario we have legalized Marijuana (and a lot less people in prison for non violent crimes), good case we have M4A, and best case we finally start to increase taxes on the enormously wealthy so they pay their fair share.
That being said, some of the people here need to get a reality check. Bernie isn't going to sieze the means, execute billionaires in Central Park, or turn us into Venezuela...

Comparing- Federal government workers getting free meals to Venezuela's starving waiting in food lines.
Please tell me you are just trolling.

It’s hard to get a reliable LR sample here of how electable Sanders would be because there appear to be a bunch of Republicans replying no and no.

Nah, I'll try and stay out of your election. I honestly don't know why I give a shit. I mean, I like Sanders and hope he wins, but it will probably have no impact on me whatsoever. I started following US politics after September 11th in my early 20s. I think the Iraq War brought me into it and I wanted to make sure Canadians stayed out. I think now its all about confirmation bias. I follow the The Hill, The Young Turks, Joe Rogan, The Majority Report, Secular Talk, Humanist Report, Steven Colbert and even Jordan Peterson (who probably wouldn't support Sanders). I even watch Ben Shapiro and Fox News to hear what the other side has to say. I guess its all like a reality tv soap opera. Kinda makes me want to go off grid to escape all the drama that doesn't really impact my life.

How has the current administration made America better?
Our international reputation has been flushed down the toilet (when was the last time you heard the term "Leader of the Free World" used with Trump?). We have $1T annual deficits (where did Republican fiscal responsibility go?). We're giving farmers 10s of billions of dollars in taxpayer money to counteract the effect of tariffs (but no, that's not a socialist policy). Manufacturing is in a technical recession. The administration is run by "interim" directors (wouldn't a competent successful business leader want qualified full-time people helping?) and there are only a couple of (unqualified) directors (Devos, Carson) remaining from his Day 1 selections. Yes, the stock market is climbing (ignoring the recent reaction to COVID-19) but it is following the trajectory set by Obama.
