I have my Stryd set to always for pace. It’s way better than GPS for instantaneous pace.

^^^^^This.

I use it for pace outdoors, and pace & distance indoors.

Compared to GPS, it has much better instantaneous accuracy; but it's error is cumulative. Whereas GPS is highly inaccurate across short distances, but the error over a full run is quite small (I have the auto-lap on the Garmin set for every mile, so it's easy to see how close to the same spot it beeps on my common routes....usually within 10 meters).

Exactly what Titanflexr said. Stryd is great for instantaneous pace, but just OK for distance. GPS is much better for outside distance because it only has absolute error that cancels out versus Stryd's cumulative error that grows with distance.
