If the brief sound clip is a sample of the new album, it reminds me a bit of Tool.

Fuck, they wish. Please don't put the two of those bands in the same sentence. After 10 they were pure shyte.

I hear this every so often. Yes, if you were looking for more of Ten, their subsequent albums will disappoint. I think they held a high standard and made great music for at least their first five albums. Vs, Vitology, No Code, Yeild, all had excellent tracks and generally hold up very well as complete albums. Binaural had some good tracks but that's where the creative decline started, IMO.

They still put on an excellent show.

They certainly mellowed with age.
Ten was their best album.
The other albums have a couple good songs each.
Regarding Tool, I like the new album but the couple of experimental songs I can do without.

I don't disagree. That first album was/is unbelievable and so well put together.

Very much so.

I don't hate it, but it noting about it says Pearl Jam. Curious to see how it fits into the album and where they're going with it.
