Enve 7.8 disc+ latex tubes ?
Hello, does anyone have an experience riding Enve 7.8 disc + latex tubes? I know Enve is not recommended to use latex tubes in their wheels, but maybe someone is still riding it without problems?

Yes, I have run 7.8 SES with latex without issue.
What rim tape did you use? Should I apply extra layer of rim tape, so sharp edges will not touch the latex tube?

Good to see the guys at Enve know what they are talking about. 👌

I've been running latex in the rim brake version with the OE rim tape. No issues. Admittedly, I've only used them in Frankfurt and Kona so far and neither course requires significant downhill braking. With Disc brakes that shouldn't be a concern anyway

Why don't they recommend latex?

Been doing it for years with no issues. Even a number of fast descents.

My product recommendations for latex are all details in my "Why Latex Tubes" post, but in short I had them set up with Silca Rim Tape. Very thin and helps with tight tires too.
