The landing page has been there for a while now. I understand that there is an effort to bring WF back, but at this point in time, and with the lack of change on the page, doesn't look to good :-( Even this being the first reply says something.

I do hope it comes back, its an iconic race, and weekend. 2018 version was great, then 2019 .... ugghhhh.

tea leaves seem to be saying 2018 was it. RIP Wildflower (hope not, but they should have this locked down by now)

And the weekend before Santa Rosa 70.3 (250 miles apart).

Yeah, WTC knows how to take all the O2.

I wonder if things would have been different w/o all those years of drought/split courses.

No kidding. I'm not sure if anything would have changed without the split T1 or 2019 issue, but it makes me really grateful that I was able to make it there in 2018 for my first Wildflower. Hopefully not the last.

I had been targeting it this year to do the double, but my sister decided to plan her wedding for 5/2 (so was limited to SR70.3). If Wildflower somehow makes it happen this year, I may have to tell the sis "sorry" and get to Lake San Antonio for fear there won't be a next year. Priorities, right?

It's likely to be dead. The county is likely the culprit - see https://www.montereyherald.com/...io-eyes-2020-return/

Next races on the schedule: none at the moment

Having done both - Wildflower is a much better experience. Much more difficult course, much more satisfying, let alone the camping experience.
IMSR is a logistical PIA; because it's a point to point you have to drop your bike the night before (2 hour round trip) then get up at the crack to take the busses over there.

Won’t disagree with you one bit - I love camping and loved the vibes from Wildflower. It was really a very special thing!

FYI, the race that replaced WF last year at Lake San Antonio is back again this year.

I did that race this year. Park was empty--it was surreal; we were camping right behind the festival area.
Just 23 people did the Oly. Still a great event and the folks who put it on, the Goleta tri club, are awesome people. Will likely do their race which is June 7 as well.

Yes, Lake San Antonio Triathlon will be back again this year. We had the date at June 7th, then moved it to May 31st due to conflict with our son's graduation. Hope some of you will come join us! We had a blast last year!

That was my assumption given that it's mid-Feb and they haven't opened up registration yet.

Even though I can't go regardless, I wish Motiv/TriCal/Wildflower (whatever the actual entity is at this point) would just share something. Even if it's that it isn't happening. I think the longer they leave fans of the race in the dark, the more frustration and lack of faith in the race returning will grow. I'm disappointed in them for sure.

That said, I wish the Lake San Antonio Tri the best!! Wish I could make that one and support their efforts.

Oh, wow. I checked yesterday when I saw the post about the rumor. At least there’s finally a decision.
